The BA-64 was based on the chassis of the GAZ-67 jeep and was the only wheeled armoured vehicle produced in any significant numbers by the Soviets during the war. (Sovfoto) 50. Although not of the best quality, this rare photo shows one of the least known cOiobatants of the 1944--5 fighting, a pz Kpfw N tank of the Bulgarian Armoured Brigade, during operations near Dravasza Boles in Hungary in 1944. The Bulgarians had been partially equipped by the Germans up to the summer of 1944, but in September 1944 they switched sides and fought against the Wehrmacht, mainly in Yugoslavia. (Ivan Bajtos) 51.
